Disneyland – Fun for All the Family
Although some time ago now, I can still remember my visit to Disneyland Florida when I was a child. This is because of the enjoyment that I felt when I was there. It was almost as though this place was a fantasy and it really is a child’s dream to go there. However this isn’t to say that adults can not enjoy the visit, and in fact there are a number of attractions that can be enjoyed for people of all ages.
There is always something to see or do at Disneyland during the daytime, and there is also nightly entertainment during the peak season, and weekend entertainment during the off-season.
On Tom Sawyer’s Island, a show called Fantasmic is held twice each night during the peak season and on off-season weekends. It features many Disneyland characters, fireworks, and music, and although seating is free, it is recommended to purchase tickets for the show in advance for the best seating possible.
Twice each day, The Parade of Dreams takes place and again includes many of the Disneyland characters, with choreographed shows featuring at various times throughout the parade.
Musical shows are available at many times throughout the day, including the Snow White musical in the Fantasyland Theater.
There is so much to see at Disneyland and so much going on that is impossible to get bored, and then to end the day you should not miss out on the fireworks display. The fireworks show is held late each night, before the park closes for the day.
If you are staying in a Disneyland hotel you will probably even be able to see the display from there if you can not stay for the fireworks! The firework display is a perfect opportunity to take some photo snaps to remember your time there, especially if you get to view the show from in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle.
Most of the entertainment is included in the admission price. However, consider purchasing priority seating for some events that you are desperate to see, as being able to view shows from good seating makes them even more memorable.
Disneyland Tickets provides some great information on a variety of Disneyland topics including Disneyland hotels. Be sure to stop by the site and have a read through the information available.

Amsterdam – A Clash of Styles
The city of Amsterdam is a clash of styles, both conservative and liberal. Whatever your personal views, Amsterdam is a city you have to visit at least once.
Amsterdam
Visually, Amsterdam appears to be a conservative European city out of antiquity. The place oozes charm with cobblestone streets, canals and towering water front homes. Philosophically, however, the city is very liberal with marijuana being decriminalized and prostitution a licensed profession. It is easy to get caught up in debates over the merits of this liberal attitude and completely miss much of what Amsterdam has to offer.
Museums
You’ll think Amsterdam is heaven if you are an art lover. Even if you’re not big into art, the collections in the museums will impress you. This is the stuff that was in your high school art books, which you failed to appreciate because you were too stupid, young or a combination of both. I certainly had a healthy dose of both!
The Rijksmuseum carries collections of some of the great Dutch painters such as Vermeer. While the building alone can be considered a great piece of art, the Rembrandt collection is a must see. For those who are art illiterate, I’m talking about the painter, not the toothpaste. Included in the collection are pieces such as the famous Night Watch. This painting has reached that peculiar level of fame wherein a psycho idiot tries to slice it in half every few years. Now that’s fame. A very sad form of fame, but there you are.
Ah, but what about that crazy man with the really bad ear piercing? Where are his paintings? Fret not. The Vincent van Gogh Museum is considered the finest and largest collection of his work. It is impressive, but I thought framing his notes regarding picking up food for dinner was a bit much. Just kidding. Impressive notes…very impressive. Brought a tear to my eye.
Coffee Shops/Red Light District
The coffee shops in Amsterdam actually sell coffee. This is often a surprise to some since they are famous for selling marijuana as well. I don’t know this personally, but have “heard from a friend” that such things go on. I can, however, definitely recommend the coffee. Good stuff. If you prefer to try things other than coffee, try to show some restraint. You are in a foreign country and an out of his or her mind tourist is asking for trouble.
The red light district in Amsterdam is an odd place. Because of the fame, it is more of a tourist destination than anything else. The “professionals” sit behind storefront windows, waving and winking at people passing by. These “people” typically consists of tour groups and random tourists who want to say they’ve seen the place. Although I am sure business is being done, it isn’t particularly obvious.
While the cliché is “sex, drugs and rock n’ roll,” Amsterdam seems to have replaced rock with art. All and all, the city is top notch and absolutely worth a visit if you’re traveling to Europe.

First time visitors to Washington D.C. usually take in the Capitol Mall, White House and other well-known historical landmarks in the nation’s capitol.
Lesser known, perhaps, on the tourist guide is the United States Botanic Garden, an oasis of beauty and color as well as a storehouse of gardening information. It is located on the southeastern corner of the Capitol Mall, just at the bottom of Capitol Hill.
Confirmed, as well as aspiring “green thumbs,” could pick up plenty of horticultural pointers here. The garden sponsors free classes on a wide spectrum of flower, herbs, fruit, spice, and vegetable subjects. Most classes are held in the spring and summer.
The Botanic Garden is a living legacy created by the U.S. Congress in 1842. Since its humble beginnings in a single green house, it has grown into a national showcase with more than 38,000 square feet of displays under a single roof.
The Botanic Garden is under the jurisdiction of the Joint Committee of The Library of Congress, but is administered through the office of the Architect of the Capitol. The Garden is open daily, free of charge, from 9 a.m. in the summer. Group tours of the Garden Conservatory, a huge glassed structure located at the eastern end of the National Capitol Mall, are conducted throughout the year. The present Conservatory was erected in 1933 and houses sub-tropical, tropical and desert plants in a steamy or dry environment. Self-guided walks through the Conservatory offer a pleasant treat to any Mall visitor.
The garden is located near the Frederic Auguste Bartholdi Park, a sculptured display of bulbs, annuals and perennials, which is part of the Botanic Garden. The historic Bertholdi Fountain, named after the park’s designer, is a focal centerpiece of the area.

Get to Know More About the Newest Insect Control Innovation: Making Your Tailgate Party Insect-Free
Football equals Party, no other sport is so related to a party. Superbowl weekend attracts no American like any other sport event can. So its no wonder that many people don’t care if they don’t even get inside the stadium, having a tailgate party would be enough. A TV showing the action could spark the emotions in people just like watching the game itself.
When you say tailgate party the first thing that comes to mind is football and beer. But anyone could do that. To make a party that everyone remembers is to make a party that’s a cut above the rest. The first thing to consider is having a party that’s extremely comfortable. That includes having a party that’s insect free.
Insects can be a nuisance when your having fun, its not enough that they’re irritating, they have to get into the food.
There’s no other party spoiler as devastating as the invasion of insects. They get into the food and ruin everything else
This is a party buster that can ruin a heck of a good time.
There are certain measures that a good tailgate host can do to make a party error and pest free.
One of the most reliable insect control innovations is having the electronic insect zapper. They emit a sound and light that’s attuned to the insects and diverts its attention to the device and away from the party.
Usually, this is battery powered and emits a light that’s virtually extremely attractive to insects. Once they get near, they get zapped with a small electrical discharge that eliminates the insects and pests.
There are also some innovative scientific insect control gadgets that rely on sound waves that deflect the incoming wave of ants. Ants can be the bane of any outdoor party. Just leave a dish uncovered and you could find a swarm of ants covering it.
Fight fire with fire. Innovative small spurting canisters emit controlled fire to eliminate pests and insects. Take out your mini tank and extinguish the insects and pests that can eventually ruin your party. Just do this before your guests arrive.
But most importantly, keep your food properly enclosed. Closing it eliminates the escape of scent, which attracts the insects and pests. If they don’t know there’s a treat for them, they wont bother you. Prevention is still the best control over pests and insects.
The next time you plan a party or picnic, make use of odor-free, no leakage food containers. Also keep that insect at a distance and away from the food. Don’t let your parties ruined by a bunch of insects.
The internet is still your best source for the newest insect control innovation.

Traveling: The Little Things You Need To Pack Before Leaving
So, you’re finally going away for your well-deserved vacation. Don’t let careless packing spoil a great holiday. Airport security systems have changed and has become much tighter. You might want to think about leaving some items at home and there are also some items that you might want to think about taking along. Here are some items to think about taking with you for a smoother trip and holiday:
Bottled water: many people are afraid of causing delays at the security checkpoint and some may insist that you finish it in front of the guards. Sipping water regularly while you fly can alleviate much of the discomfort that flying can cause. Also, depending on your destination – it can be very useful to have a bottle to fill with drinking water.
If you are diabetic it goes without saying; but even non-diabetic travelers will benefit from having some small food items on hand. Food wouldn’t usually bother security guards. Keep some small sugary and high protein snacks on hand to curb low blood sugar levels.
Baby Wipes will most likely be needed as well even if you don’t have a baby. If you eat something sticky and can’t get up to go to the bathroom these will help.
No matter where you are going you will need to find some secure way to carry your money and valuables. Your passports and credit cards will cause a vacation ruining mess for you and your family. If you travel often then it might be worth your while to invest a bit in something special and practical. Money belts are one way to carry around your valuables but they sometimes look bulky and obvious. A fanny pack is another idea. It depends on where you are going. You don’t want to draw attention to yourself or to your nerdy lime green fanny pack. Depending on where you are going you may want to leave jewelry at home. Foreign criminals are just looking for unsuspecting Americans.
Some kind of portable entertainment system is essential if you are traveling alone for long periods of time. It isn’t only techno junkies that can benefit from one of the many portable entertainment systems. Delays can be expected if you fly and you will be glad for something to keep you amused. Load an iPod with some of your favorite music and you have an instant mood lift wherever you are.
Another item that could be useful is a first aid kit. Even if you don’t need one – it will be reassuring that you are equipped for any emergency. Include headache tablets, some Mylanta is a must and anti-inflammatory. There are some excellent small travel first aid kits available nowadays.
Packing a plastic bag or two into your bag is a good idea. It will be a handy at some stage of your trip. Plastic bags have an uncanny way of being both useful and hard to find when you need one. Roll it up – won’t take any space and you will find a use for it at some stage of your trip. Otherwise you might land up having to pack your wet shoes in with your clothes. These are just a few tips to ease your trip stress. Since 9/11 air travel has changed and it’s important to keep this in mind when traveling. Plan ahead, be prepared and most importantly – have a great trip!

How To Spice Up Valentines Day By Changing The Direction Of Your Love.
Another Valentines day is upon us and as we spread the love this month, how about starting right at home with your self? I want to talk about loving your self.
I am sure that you have encountered loads of people who both professionally and personally tend to put the needs of others before themselves. For many people it is an integral aspect of their work whereas some people learn that way of being during their younger years.
The variety of carers in our society learn how to minimise taking notice of their own feelings in order to take care of their clients and patients. People that tend to drive themselves into fatigue, depression or even illness include individuals such as hospital doctors working ridiculously long hours, high ranking city executives responding to their bosses, mothers to their young children, teachers within schools and colleges, managers of large companies with lots of employees.
With these kinds of people, because of their beliefs about what their role entails, they have a habit of putting the needs of the company or the client first. There can then come a point where these kind of people do not even notice their own feelings.
Where is the love? It is being expended everywhere else. I would go as far as to say that this is potentially dangerous.
This kind of attitude to oneself produces conscious and unconscious attempts to take care of the self in short term ways or ways that are detrimental to our own well-being, including smoking or drinking alcohol or eating too much or the wrong things. These things then replace the good, direct and long-term ways of taking care of ourselves. People often try to give themselves quick treats, but in a way that can erode your self-esteem or your ability to attract love as you find that you cannot go without it, and also these things do not create natural good feelings most of the time.
So then what happens is that the teacher leaves the profession, the executive gets burnt out early, the nurse goes sick with constant illness, the doctor chooses to work in a private clinic with regular hours and pleasant surroundings. All of these may well be valid, but if they are not the individual’s choice and they are forced decisions, it really does nothing for your sense of self. Without a good sense of self, it is hard to attract love.
So we want to spread some love.
Putting oneself first actually means that we are then of course in a far better position to look after others. If we are fit and well and happy, we have plenty spare for others. We can give generously without minding. Putting time and energy into loving your self is one of the most wonderful investments that you can make. So, we want to start getting you to notice you.
What do you like about you? What is there to love about you?
Is there someone in your life that you truly admire or think a lot of? How about someone that you really love? What is it about them that you like or love so much? Stop and have a think about them for a moment. Really think about the reason you like them so much.
I am sure that some of you may have responded with that old chestnut “I just do.” Now whether you are consciously aware of it or not, there are more reasons than that. I am positive that you could come up with lists and lists of amazing qualities that you find likeable in others. Liking someone involves identifying and enjoying certain qualities that you appreciate and think highly of.
This is why we end up liking people that we are unlikely to actually meet but are in the public eye. You can of course respect someone without liking them; liking them is to enjoy them.
This is very similar to the process of liking and loving oneself. Liking and loving comes from having a true sense of self-acceptance; we do not have to be perfect model citizens. Your liking for yourself will increase once you know more about how you function and learning to accept yourself as you are, even if you do have issues or foibles every now and then.
Now have a think about popular public figures. Very often one of the things that continues to draw people to them is not their accomplishments but the fact that they have frailties and foibles. This is what so many of the popular glossy magazines focus on, showing the regular lives and problems of the famous and one of the reasons that people seem to be so drawn to reality television programmes such as “Big Brother.” It is as if the message is “look, they are just like us.” We see how human other people really are.
Therefore, it is as if this process of being drawn to what makes us human and real shows us to be fallible at times. If this works between us and other people, surely it can also work inside of ourselves. Actually, it can be a relief to allow ourselves to accept any limitations that we may think we have and even become fond of them, even proud, as long as they are not interfering too much with our lives.
Enjoying being your self this Valentines day:
That’s right, as of this very Valentines day, you are starting to enjoy being your self, this is where the love is. What are the things that you do enjoy about the way you are? At the end of the day, when taking stock of your day, you can also take some time to ask your self what you most loved most about you today.
Do include everything, even if it was a small, supposedly non-important thing. Perhaps you wore a certain handkerchief (you must have been bought one that is in a drawer somewhere that your great auntie bought you several Christmas’s ago!) because it matched a new shirt. Perhaps it was something that you did, an enjoyable or beneficial interaction you had, or perhaps it was even something that you chose not to do or something that you thought. There are so many things to love about the way you have been today.
To really get your love for your self flowing this Valentines day, go ahead and make an official list on a piece of paper that has the heading ‘I love myself because…’ Then make another list that begins ‘I love … about myself.’ Of course, you then have to add to those lists. Make a long loving list of things that can show you all the wonderful things you love about your self.
So think of the people you like and love the most, and the people who like and love you the most. If they like you or love you, dare to trust that you are actually well worth liking and well worth loving and of course you are worth giving some love to, and then dare to like and love your self as they do. Go on, I dare you! By the way, you do not have to only allow that love on your self on Valentines day, do it all the time and notice what an amazingly loving Valentines day you have next year.

You Have To Love The Location, Say These Owners Of Orlando Florida Villas
It has been said that in real estate there are three things that count the most: location, location and location. I recently discovered how powerful this concept can be.
Not long ago, I wrote an article about owning a vacation rental and what to consider before making the plunge ( http://www.seo-writer.net/clients/villa-ownership.html ). Like every decision, there are pros and cons, and it also depends on an individual’s temperament, comfort with risk and many other factors.
I asked a few dozen villa owners who were listed at an Orlando Florida villas rental listing site at http://www.lastminutevillas.net why they had chosen villa ownership and what cautions or advice they would offer somebody considering a Florida vacation rental.
What struck me, however, was how most of the vacation rental owners I interviewed offered more comments on why they chose Florida as a location, than why they chose to be a villa owner.
In other words, the location more than the occupation inspired villa ownership, and that location is Orlando, Florida. Considering the battering Florida had recently taken by one hurricane after another, this struck me as kind of odd. So I picked up the phone and called Stewart Granville, owner of the listing site.
“It’s late Fall and I’m sitting out here in my shorts. Do I need another reason?” he asked. “How are you doing up there?”
“Uh…let me just go get a sweater,” was all I could respond.
To give you some idea of how important it for a vacation rental property owner to fall in love with the location, here are just two samples of what some villa owners told me:
“When we are driving back to the airport in Florida we never want to leave,” says Michelle Prince, owner of Secret Key Villa in Kissimmee, Florida ( http://www.lastminutevillas.net/villa/166/ ), adding “It was something we have always wanted to do since taking a Christmas break in Florida every year.”
“I believe that to feel that you wish to buy property in Florida you must think further than ‘Profit’,” says Dave Gordon, owner of Lindisfarne Villa in Orlando ( http://www.lastminutevillas.net/villa/89/ ). “I sincerely believe that most foreign villa owners have the ‘feel good’ factor themselves and buy because they want to return time and again…if they make a profit…what the heck!”
Of course, no business venture should be run on the off-chance of making a profit, but every business venture should be a labour of love, and few require as much love as the tender nurturing of vacation rental homes.

Tips to Make Car Rental Easy
Renting a car can be a frustrating and high stress experience, if you don’t know the ropes. These few simple tips can make it easier.
Tips for saving money:
Book your rental online, many rental companies have online specials.
Book your rental at the same time you book your air travel or hotel, package rates are usually discounted.
Rent a 2,3 or 5 day, or week long package, packages are generally priced lower.
Many rental companies will offer you the option of returning the car without filling the gas tank…They do this by selling you the full tank of gas that is in the vehicle at the time of rental. If you are sure you be using more than one tank of gas, and you are offered a price per gallon that is lower than the prevailing price per gallon in the area, you could save a few dollars, and have less hassle returning your vehicle.
How are you going to handle insurance?
The rental agent will try very hard to sell you the coverage’s they offer…which are usually a very expensive form of temporary insurance.
You do have other options…The least costly way is to tell them that your personal or business auto policy will cover you. Before you suggest this, be sure you check with your insurance agent, to be sure exactly what coverage you do have.
Many credit cards will cover some rental car insurance…You need to use that card to pay for your rental, and be sure you understand what is covered and what the limits are.
Miscellaneous Tips.
The type or model car you reserved is not available…what can you do? This could be a bait and switch tactic, or they may just be overstocked on larger models…it is also an opportunity to practice your negotiation skills.
I usually will accept the upgrade to the next level…if it is offered at the same rate…I may suggest that we split the rate, or I may refuse to complete the transaction and go somewhere else.
If your car breaks down be sure that you call the 800 number usually provided for service or road emergencies…if you do not call them first, they may not cover whatever you spend.
If you discover that you left some item in the car when you turned it in…don’t panic, call the rental location where you dropped off the car, they may have found your item, and will usually send it to you.
Always be sure you have a major credit card with you, Car Rental companies may accept checks, but they will never rent a car for cash.

No Paws from Santa Claus
The Holidays are coming and children have thought long and hard about the gifts they would most want to receive this year. Trucks, trains, Groovey girls and scooters are popular gifts this year. Each year lists are filled with the “most popular” toys of that year. There is one thing each year that can be found on many children’s lists. A puppy. The image of a bright eyed plump adorable pup dressed in a red bow is an irresistible one. Or is it? Giving a life for a gift is something to think very carefully about. Puppies grow up quickly, cost a lot and need a life long commitment.
As a Professional Dog Trainer and Breed rescue volunteer, I have seen many sad endings for these once so irresistible pups. Spring comes around and the pup is now sixty or so pounds and full of unappreciated energy and spunk… The issues of teething and housebreaking are sore subjects for the entire family. The pup is out of control and no longer the highlight in the kid’s day. Many times this leads to a decision to “re home” the pup. This is the worst case scenario. Unfortunately it is all too common. Preparing ahead of time is essential to the success of a new puppy in your home.
If your family has made a decision to get a puppy please keep several things in mind. Getting a puppy is at least a 13 year long commitment depending on the type of dog. The most enjoyable dogs are well mannered. It is advised you seek out a dog trainer for instruction that suits your needs… All dogs need monthly heartworm prevention as well as yearly medical check ups. Please research the type of dog you are interested in. Different breeds have traits specific to them. Find traits that suit your family’s lifestyle there are many options for where to get a dog or puppy from. The internet is a great resource of information on this. Most breeds have a rescue group of some kind. There are many wonderful dogs that are without homes.
So, if you see a puppy on the top of your child’s list this year. Might I suggest that you go out and purchase the cutest stuffed puppy that you can find? Get it a leash and collar with tags. Get a food bowl and some biscuits for effect and then research together the many options you have in deciding when and what type of furry family member you would like to bring into your family. Preparation, Education and dedication are the best recipe for a perfect happy ending for all. Happy Holidays

Don’t Let Holiday Expenses Give you the Winter Blues
Its that time of year again. The holidays tend to sneak up on us giving many little time to save. Regardless of how much you have saved up for this time of year, or choose to spend, it’s inevitable that you will come out with some sort of debt. In order to keep your holiday debt down this year or stop it before it even starts use these tips as a guide below.
Review your current bills and their rates
You will find that rates change all the time on cell phones, credit cards, auto insurance and mortgages to just name a few. You can call other providers and find out what they are offering and switch to that, but first call the company you are currently with and let them know and often times they will match or beat other’s offers.
Compare banks
Depending on your current bank, there are banks that offer free checking and online bill pay, which is very convenient. So if you are paying a fee at your bank, shop around for other options that may benefit you more. When searching for a bank which you can do online make sure the bank is a member of the FDIC, which means the money is insured in case anything were ever to happen to the bank.
Don’t miss payments/deadlines
Missing payments or deadlines is your own fault, so just make sure you are organized and get your bills in on time or if you rent a movie, return it before it becomes past due. By avoiding late fees you will be saving yourself extra cash that you can put toward gifts.
Put some cash aside
Instead of trying to save right before the holiday season, start small instead. Simply set aside a certain amount each paycheck whether it is $10 or $50. This way, when the time comes you will have that money saved up and won’t be spending your whole paycheck on holiday items or putting it on your credit card for that matter. Some ways to set aside money if you are struggling to do so now, is instead of going out to lunch or dinner every other night, limit yourself to a few days and eat at home. Take the money you would have spent and put it towards your savings.
